Metallic Garage Floor in Greenville, SC

A Demanding Substrate Fix Before a Show-Car-Ready

Metallic Finish

A homeowner in Greenville, South Carolina wanted a garage floor worthy of the show-quality car it would hold — which meant no flake, no sand, nothing to hide behind. Greenville Epoxy Flooring installed a custom metallic epoxy finish for the job, the most demanding coating system we install. Without broadcast media to camouflage flaws, the substrate underneath has to come close to perfect.

That standard got tested early. The slab outgassed heavily during the first primer coat, sending vapor up through the fresh epoxy and leaving the surface pitted with bubbles. Rather than finish over a flawed base, the crew came back the next morning, sanded the primer down, patched every hole and low spot, and re-primed the entire garage floor at nearly double the standard thickness — about 20 mils instead of the usual 10 to 12 — to lock the substrate down and build the dead-flat, sealed canvas a metallic system needs.

With the corrected primer cured, the metallic coat went down: a tinted base worked by hand with metallic pigments to build depth, movement, and a pattern that can't be replicated, sealed under a high-build clear top coat. The result is a garage floor that reads like polished stone and holds up to the standard a high-end car deserves. Call (864) 252-1101 if your garage is worthy of this kind of finish.
